The geometry is much simpler and quicker if you apply contraflexure to a turnout and leave the main road in the ruling curve. Simply start with one of the turnouts leading to the inside of the main curve, and then click template> invert handing menu item or press CTRL+ X. Then F9 mouse action to slide it into position. Because of the ... the radii will be eased, and you will probably find that you can shorten the turnout to a smaller size (F5) without infringing your minimum radius, and so perhaps fit in an extra fiddle yard track. If you really do want the main road of the turnout to run straight off to the outside of the ruling curve, you need to adjust the substitution radius (external geometrical radius) for the turnout. The run-round seems very short -- presumably only for goods shunting? To keep it as wide as possible I inserted a ... . I did play about with the turnout to the shed (B5) to create an offset Y. I did a printout full size and managed to get the engine to easily run around 4 Maunsell coaches, which is the longest I can have in the fiddle yard. By all means draw your layout in Templot, but then utilise the standard Timber Tracks ... and the last renewals of track matching the MR details above would probably have been in the 1930s. I understand from your topic on MRF forum that you are modelling the 1960s. Sleepers have a typical life of 25-30 years, so except in the goods yard on your plan it's unlikely (but not impossible) that any such 9ft-sleeper track would remain in the running lines and platforms. You could very reasonably use the 60ft/ 24 sleepers setting in Templot with 8ft-6in sleepers. regards, Martin. ...
