... to build a slip turnout, but the whole thing has to fit in a quarter circle, approximately, so if 3 curved turnouts are too long I'll have to build a single or double slip turnout for the outside track instead. A slip turnout might end up giving smoother running, so I may ultimately end up there for that reason, too. ... . There is another reverse curve at the start of the bottom left turnout on the scissors crossover as well. Neither is ideal especially when pushing bogie coaches into the platform. Actually a curved double slip is bound to have a reverse curve on the outside slip, maybe that is a good reason to keep the formation straight. Also it's important to run through the tutorials and ask questions on here. What's the worst that can happen? You don't save what you've just done. It's easy to start again having learnt from your last mistake. Martin has produced a fantastic aid to producing accurate templates for building the layout that you want and that will look right. Save it in the C:\TEMPLOT\SHAPE-FILES\ folder so that Templot can find it every time you reload the BGS file from there. Edits: Templot2 now supports GIF, PNG, JPG, in addition to BMP. For scanned items -- use JPG. For computer graphics and CAD drawings -- use PNG. Do not use JPG for these. It is no longer necessary to save the image file in the shapes folder. The video needs updating to reflect these changes. If it is a "25-inch" OS map the scale is actually 1:2500, not 1:25000.
