The question is though, how should I have done it so that the turnouts align correctly without all the trial and error faffing about, based on the positions of the diverging tracks being fixed? See: topic 174 topic 212 I've downloaded and installed it, but not yet really got into it, so maybe others can advise further. There is a massive online resource of 3D objects to use in your Sketchup designs. Personally I tend to use C&L wherever possible, and Exactoscale for the bits that C&L don't do. I should mention that this is for GWR trackwork. If you're into modelling LNER (or early BR, I think), then you might want to look at the Exactoscale turnout kits. I have constructed a scissors crossover with a double slip on one exit road. I then put a peg on the exit of the slip, put the notch under the peg and then try to add some plain track onto that notch. As soon as I move the track into position the notch moves from under the peg and the new track doesn't align with where I want it to go. Any help would be much appreciated. I should add that this is part of my storage yard and I managed somehow to get the other end to work out after suffering the same sort of problem, I thought I had sussed it but obviously I haven't.
