... realised that I was repeatedly performing a similar operation and posited that it could have been somewhat simpler if there was an additional option on the 'geometry'-> 'peg positions' dialogue to move the peg over the notch- which is greyed out unless and until, the notch is within the bounds of the control template. I had a look round the other menus, but either couldn't find it or didn't realise the wording represented what I wanted to achieve. Mostly though I now use it for cutting point timbering to pencil-marked lengths, using ply, and just buy in plain track sleepers already cut to length. Hi Richard, For GWR and BR(W) David Smith's book says the lever handle should be 5ft from the gauge face of the rail, to suit the standard connecting rod.
