Before you start do save group to a file. You could call it temp_group.box and re-use it each time. The diamond crossing is a switched diamond- usually used when the angle of the "K" crossing starts getting too large which can cause flanges to take the wrong road. It looks as though the angle of the "K" crossing in the formation looks OK for a fixed diamond, but I wonder if the comparative simplicity of the switched diamond around the "K" crossing might not have been an advantage in this formation. When modelling using 00 gauge track, I set my third rail with the insulated rail supports at 14.2mm from the track centre line. 00 gauge sleepers are generally 32mm long instead of the scale 34mm, which could leave the third rail appearing too close to the end of the sleeeprs.
