Users could then add the wing rails in the usual way, and having the nose of the vee hidden between the wing rails would disguise the fact that it is an etched component rather than the proper rail section. The join with normal rail could be hidden in the C chair. Some careful dimensioning of the spacer blocks could allow a really solid crossing to be soldered up with the correct flangeway provided automatically. I have now realised that this is the same layout which you posted about before, in this topic: topic 2326 Unfortunately that topic spanned the time of my mother's death, so I wasn't able to give it proper attention at the time. But I did post what seems to be a solution to your straight goods shed in this post: message 15546 File: http://85a.co.uk/forum/attachment.php?id=1670 Admittedly the shed is only about 10" long, but that seems to be the limit of what can be fitted in the space. I notice on that plan there are not the mismatches and misalignments now on the latest plan you posted, so I'm wondering what changes you have been trying to make which have caused these? That plan includes a diamond-crossing having transition curve over transition curve, so I may use it as the basis of the video. regards, Martin. posted: 15 ...

... : Martin Wynne Hi Stephen, You have gone below what Templot can reasonably be expected to draw as a single template. For such an extreme turnout you really need to build it up from partial templates for each rail. Your crossing angle of 1:1.8 is shorter than the usual limit for turnouts (1 :2) and your curving radius of 102mm is only about 11 times the track gauge. Does any stock actually run round such a sharp curve? Or are you aiming for something like Gn15 -- see: attachment.php?id=177 gn15_1.png You can improve matters a little: 1. reduce the step size -- program> expert> step size... menu item. Try setting 1.0 mm. 2. shorten the vee rails so that the turnout ends just beyond the crossing (as images above). But building it from partial templates is the best solution. regards, Martin. posted: 16 Mar 2013 14:07 from: Stephen Freeman Thanks, thought it'd be something like that, I think any stock would ...
