... topic: 1854 Protofour Eurostar doing 330kph??? posted: 2 Mar 2012 00:06 from: Ewerthon Mota Someone has some experience with this modern high speed (370, 373, 390, 395 classes) trainsets from Hornby and similar brands in P4?? To have a main line in a layout that can keep a Eurostar running to a scale 330kph what would be the minimum radius? And turnout numbers? There s need to have scale swingnose frogs, or longer numbers sufice? The results multiplied by 1,19 would be valid for S scale also or there other specific consideration? The layout will be this plan, that I ll put in the background in templot and scale up until the minimum radius (the lower portion of photo near triangle?) of mainline be the desirable to this requirement. There s two photos attached showing the plan. Any comments and opinions are very welcome. 1871_011836_180000000.png 1871_011902_400000000.jpg posted: 2 Mar 2012 09:36 from: Alan Turner It all depends what you mean by "scale 333kph". ...

Makes life whole lot simpler. Nigel, If I remember correctly it was called the "Little Western" track system designed by (I think) Jack Russell to use on his Little Western layout. I believe you could purchase sleeper bases with the holes for the staples already punched, and the staples were a proprietary brand of the time (1960s). Also, IIRC, the staples became difficult to source and the only other small staples available were a bit too large. ... I have since tried IE vers 9 on another computer with no problems and Chrome on my own laptop also without problems. So my initial issue with disappeared arrowheads must be local to my copy of IE as it is still occuring. As a new PC is on order I won't try for any remedial action as the laptop is going to have a complete re-install of Windows in due course. I am running Win 7 (64bit). Screen res is a fairly modest 1920 x 1200. Processors are Intel i7 Dual Core, 2.3gHz, NVIDIA Geforce GTX 770M, It is actually a brand new machine so I might have a look at updating the video drivers- though I have not had any other issues. Hope that helps. Good Luck! Howard. EDIT:- PS Just to mention (in response to Paul's point) that I grabbed my screen after the image creation and after the Track Pad had restored itself. Whilst the previewing was going on, my set-up looked just like his. Last edited on 4 Apr 2014 06:52 by JFS posted: 4 Apr 2014 08:22 ...

You can understand my desperation Michael dJS posted: 3 Jun 2014 13:16 from: Martin Wynne Hi Michael, I think your problems must be related to using AOL as your internet service provider. They are no longer available, having been part of TalkTalk since 2006. Some web news: Services are provided by TalkTalk Group under the AOL Broadband brand. In April 2013 AOL Broadband was 'rated worst for broadband problems' by Which? Magazine. As of April 2014 AOL Broadband is no longer available for new customers. New customers are directed to the TalkTalk website for broadband packages. If you can't change provider, have you tried finding a nearby WiFi network? Or using a USB mobile broadband dongle? regards, Martin. Parts of Templot Club may not function unless you enable JavaScript (also called Active Scripting) in your browser. ... supposedly main lines. That was also the minimum radius for all main line equipment. They had a test loop at Clyde Wagon Works to check compliance. In 7mm 8 chains is 3696mm or slightly over 12 foot. So realistically there isn't a standard as such for smaller radiuses. But as I understand it a set wheel profile and back to back is necessary regardless of what standard you settle on. I'm not sure who else you are worried about run stock over your layout. If you are starting from scratch to build a brand new set of standards no one is going to be able to operate on your layout unless they meet those requirements. There are only a few S7 modellers here. And only two others doing NSWGR. Only one lives close to me and thankfully does pre 1900. So not many to run their stock on the track when finished.
