... from: Charles Orr Hi Martin, No doubt about it as far as I am concerned. The Xplain version flows much more smoothly. Regards Charles posted: 25 Jul 2019 16:10 from: Kenilworth59 Hi. I agree, Xplain feels right. Cheers Paul posted: 30 Jul 2019 02:44 from: Martin Wynne Thanks for the comments. Although I haven't made a final decision, I have now updated the Companion page with an Xplain instead of the video, see: http://templot.com/companion/catch_points.php cheers, Martin. posted: 30 Jul 2019 14:31 from: Rob Manchester Hi Martin, It looks good in terms of learning how to insert a catch point. It won't all fit on my screen at once though. I am running a 27" monitor at 1920x1080 and you can't get both the Xplains controls and the Templot menu bar etc on the screen at the same time. Pressing F11( in Firefox) to switch to full screen gives the same result. Rob posted: 30 Jul 2019 15: ...

... : Rob Manchester David, Starting with a full turnout reduce the length of the template to just the blade lengths and then use the Do->Omit Rails menu item to remove the rail you don't want. Hi David, See this page and old video: http://templot.com/companion/catch_points.php GWR catch points differ from the standard loose-heel switches, so to replicate one exactly (dimensions in David Smith's book) you would need to create a custom switch. And please, please, no-one write in to tell us they are trap points. They are catch points used as traps. We've been over that so many times I might lose the will to live. ... the stock rail joints, and there is a pre-set function to do that. Most model catch points use short 9ft or "A" switches, but you can use any size you wish if you have space: 2_060840_100000000.png If you use the "shift& join" functions, they will snap onto the end of the catch points in the usual way, or you can use the CTRL-9 functions. There is a page about catch points in the Companion at: http://templot.com/companion/catch_points.php including a video showing how to insert them. Also about reducing it to a single-sided catch point. edit: posts overlapped, no problem Alan. cheers, Martin. posted: 6 Apr 2019 15:13 from: Alan Kettlewell Thanks Martin- all very informative. ... think I will now rely on the MP4 file on FlashBackConnect. For me it has the great advantage that I can upload directly from the FlashBack editor, without needing to remember logins, create files for the server, or do anything else. *provided you don't drag the slider. Just click on the slidebar to change position in the video. I've used Alan's request for info on catch points as an opportunity to try out these changes. The video needed updating anyway. See: http://templot.com/companion/catch_points.php Hopefully it works ok for all users on all browsers and all devices? Which is always the nagging doubt when relying on a web-based solution. cheers, Martin. posted: 8 Apr 2019 18:38 from: Phil O Just looked at it on my tablet, using Android, it works well. I will check it out later on my PCs, one Win 7 and one Win 10. Phil. posted: 8 Apr 2019 19:44 from: Phil O PCs tried and all is good. ...
