A panel 800mm x 400mm isn't the least bit squarish, so I'm wondering what you have in mind. Is the whole layout going on one panel? Or several panels? With 7mm dia LEDs, the closest track spacing to keep things looking clear is probably at 5mm centres. If your layout track spacing is 50mm, that means the scale of the mimic diagram is 1:10. So that would mean a diagram 450mm square. Which 800x400 isn't? Templot has a function to draw the track centre-lines only, at any width, irrespective of the gauge of the rails (and in the marker colours), which may help you make a panel. Can you post a screenshot of what you mean by jagged track edges? That may just be your screen resolution, it would ...

Each template has its own settings, according to the requirements of its position on the track plan. For example inside an engine shed you would expect the tracks to be more widely spaced than for a straight double-track running line. Which means that normally before using the make double-track or the make crossover functions you should always set the required track centres dimension for the control template. Or at least check it. I have now had a better look at your track plan and I am afraid there are several issues that need looking at. Although your design of curved scissors and double slip will work and you have correctly used straight cut switches for your turnouts. You have used the standard track centres of 44.67mm to generate all your parallel tracks. This is alright for straight track and curves down to about 8800mm radius, but for sharper curves increased track centres are required. This is a common error. To allow for vehicle end and centre throw between templates 11 and 12 they should be at 53mm centres for 1067mm radius and between templates 28, 30 and 40 they should be at 49mm centres for 2085mm radius. This can be adjusted using the Adjacent track centres option under the Geometry drop down menu before generating double track ...

In the Scale 7 information sheet "Prototype Track Design and Construction" Figure 7 suggests that's it's 4" from the centre line of the timber. And that's the default Templot uses. However, this would have needed changes to the side banking at the lower far left of the plan, in order to get the tracks in. It is already very tight there anyway, so you may need to modify those banks. I have tried to maintain all the turnouts to a 1:6 crossing angle, but have had to change one which is part of a 3 way tandem at the centre of the plan. I had to use a 3 way tandem, because there was no room to allow a single turnout to be below the crossover at that point. I have tried to keep the baseboard joints clear of any complex track work, but could not avoid the crossover and 3 way in the centre. However, this will need looking at again, as there may be something that can be done, it depends upon how much one can transition the turnouts, or possibly move then sufficiently to avoid the baseboard ...
