... 4x4 smug in the knowledge I can cope with the worst of the British weather Rob P.S. Yes, fairly well thanks Andrew. H Rob, I agree. How well it's all put together is the dominant factor. Lucky you didn't ask Tony if it was DCC. You'd probably have got more than a shouting Cheers! Andy posted: 6 Oct 2019 00:20 from: Rob Manchester Thanks Andrew, Maybe I should have suggested DCC sound, flickering firebox LED's and a steam generator? He sticks with Markits/Romford crankpins to go with the metal centered wheels that he prefers. I need the finer profile Gibson wheels for my EM-SF standards but still prefer his choice of crankpin. ... an old Mainline(?) plastic body. I used a Finecast chassis in this loco with a large Maxon motor High Level gear box and Zimo chip....mouth wateringly slow and graceful. Having said all that I'm not sure they ever came down the Weymouth line? As I've decided to move out into the garden and a much larger site and move to EM these will all have to be converted. At present I'm building a 43xx in EM to see how I get on with the clearance between the crossheads and the crankpins on the leading wheels which I imagine is the biggest challenge of going closer to scale. Kind regards Andrew posted: 30 Oct 2013 11:38 from: Martin Wynne Hi Andrew, Thanks for your kind thoughts. I'm afraid I haven't had time to do any more with this, and that will probably be the case for several more weeks. I've attached below the .box file as a work-in-progress. No timber shoving has yet been done, all timbering is raw, as you can see on the ...

... rods, but my memory isn't good these days. But if they exist they are not easily accessible at present, so I can't say for sure. Send me an email with your postal address, and when I have found them I will put some in the post to you. You can find my email address by clicking my name on the left of this. You will need some means to heat-seal the collars onto the rods -- you could make a special soldering-iron bit for the purpose (the crankpins are fixed to the rods and rotate in the wheels). If you have none of the special plastic-safe grease supplied with the loco, I will send you some of that too. If nothing has happened after a few weeks, post a reminder reply here. (p.s. alternatively you could turn replacement collars in suitable plastic.) regards, Martin. posted: 18 Jul 2016 16:40 from: Cartaret Thank you for the assistance concerning the 85a Hunslet...
