Trevor Last edited on 13 Nov 2014 18:26 by Trevor Walling posted: 15 Nov 2014 14:42 from: its_all_downhill Hi all, I have recently unbound myself from Windows running on my Mac VM and have gone down the Linux route installing Mint. I am currently having problems getting the bbsoftware viewer to work correctly and am a bit flummoxed. Here are my specs OS X 10.10( I suspect this may be the culprit) Mint 17 Cinnamon (Qiana) Virtualbox 4.3.18 with guest additions Wine 1.6 installed via synaptic Firefox under Wine BBSoftware Express 5 So the problem is that once the view is double clicked on I am show the registration window and once the emailed code is entered it just disappears and does nothing. Each time I try to open the app I get the registration screen. I am never given any error codes or information. Wondered if anyone else had come across this problem? and if there was a solution. ... son and will report back when I've fitted it if you want. One last thing: I originally had 2Gb of system memory which I increased to 3Gb. I may be imagining it but I think that my problems started then (prior to that Pinnacle Studio ran fine but it's hard to be precise on the timing). I've gone back to 2Gb but the issue remains. I'm fairly sure that Templot in your case and Pinnacle Studio in mine are only reacting to a potential instability in our systems rather than being the actual culprits. Regards John posted: 11 Feb 2011 09:13 from: wcampbell23 ATI graphics cards have their limitations as well! When working with large (40MB+) background images I have found that once beyond a certain degree of magnification the background image goes black. The graphics response time of the screen refresh is also much slower when working with background images larger than about 20MB. Increasing the amount of system RAM in my machine did not make any difference. Regards Bill Campbell. posted: 11 Feb 2011 09:15 ...

Apparently they just block in total, messages from any ISP they suspect is harbouring spammers. Hi Brian, That's actually a separate issue, but also a pain. The biggest culprits seem to be Comcast in the US, who routinely block all emails from this Templot Club forum. In theory there is a process to go through whereby I can ask them to stop doing it. But I don't see why I should have to, and in practice it's pointless because within a week or two they start doing it again. I was actually referring to the different situation where a customer has signed up with an email verification service. When you try to send the customer an email, you get one back ...

Your suggestion of using Click the real> timbering> bonus timbers> remove all menu item, certainly clears them out quicker. Again I shall have to go round all the custom switches and check them before I use anymore. All the best, Brian Nicholls. posted: 24 Nov 2011 20:56 from: Brian Nicholls Hi Martin, Just to let you know, have found the culprits, it was some of the custom switches I have used, so have cleaned both them and the masters out of the bonus timbers, they should now be OK. There is still a mystery however, the timber number showing at the top of the stack up was supposed to be the next timber number to use if you called in another bonus timber, and the stack height seemed to be the same as the number of bonus timbers used plus the next one in line. I cleaned out all my non-interleaved ...

It looks as if for once I'm not the culprit of my own dilemma. Apologies for sending the wrong attached image file, I did in fact use a prepared scaled sketchboard GIF file to add the signal box into Sketchboard just as specified when we were discussing this during the early development of sketchboard. I have now attached, to this message, the correct file that I actually used. BTW, The image below, is what it looks like on my Workpad track plan. Many thanks for reporting it, I will do a bit more digging. regards, Martin. posted: 16 Feb 2013 20:27 from: Paul Boyd Hi Martin Thanks for your reply. I've done a bit more playing, and saving the shapes file first doesn't always prevent the crash so that's a red herring! The transparency option does definitely seem to be the culprit though- not one crash with transparency turned off! The last time the crash happened Templot hadn't actually got as far as zooming in to the control template (with a transparent picture) when it all locked up, but perhaps it was just the very thought of zooming in that made it crash Your mention of the graphics card is interesting though! I do have the latest nVidia drivers, but every now and then opening or closing Firefox causes the drivers to crash, at which point they restart themselves and carry on with ...

Most usually it means that a modal dialog window is being displayed, and you must respond to that dialog before the program can continu Templot has so many capabilities it is easy to get stuck. When I encounter the ping as described I usually discover the dialog window is being displayed by minimising the open windows till I find the culprit. Once that is addressed it is just a matter of restoring the windows to their former size and continuing. ... their web site which is failing to work in the embedded browser -- for example the "script error" messages, and the fact that mouse-dragging doesn't work (in Windows10), it is necessary to use the arrow keys to move around. Those problems don't arise with other map sites such as OS Maps and OpenStreetMap, which work fine in the embedded browser without errors. However, criticising NLS is a bit unfair when they are a non-profit providing an amazing mapping resource free of charge. The real culprit is Microsoft, who still implement the Windows API WebBrowser component using an old version of Internet Explorer -- I believe the rendering engine is IE7. Even in Windows10 they haven't upgraded it to the Edge rendering engine. This is typical of Windows, where fancy new stuff that no-one wants gets added to the desktop, but the underlying works are years old. Look for example at the standard Windows Help system (CHM files) -- unchanged since Windows98 and still full of the original bugs. Admittedly large chunks ...
