... these going forward. 1. modal windows don't work properly under Wine on Linux/Mac/CrossOver. I have put in a kludgy fix for that, but ideally we would use far fewer modal dialogs. They annoy users by requiring to be dismissed before the program can continue. 2. child forms aren't properly implemented by the Lazarus compiler. There might be a way round that if we dig deeper into Lazarus. The reason for using child forms is simply me being lazy. They provide a quick way of having a draggable resizable scrolling panel which doesn't take focus away from the parent form. That could be provided by coding a TPanel component instead, although making it resizable is a lot of work. 1. At present this shows modal and must be dismissed before the program can continue. That's because at present it doesn't update automatically. In which case, if it wasn't modal, it would be left showing incorrect data when a different template is clicked. If we arrange for it to update when a template is clicked, it doesn't need ...

... better method than the one you are using, based on 100% output instead of 5.4% and/or aspect ratio adjustments on the sketchboard, using the old 1990s data-distortions. I wish I had suggested this earlier, but I couldn't be sure it is still working. But I am determined to get 226d released first, before I forget where I have got to in it. I have just now added a proper setting for actual-size sketchboard printing: 2_101720_020000000.png 2_101721_010000000.png It would be much better done with a draggable outline on the sketchboard, but that would be a lot more coding needed, and will have to wait. I'm hoping to get 226d released tonight, but before I do more I am going to make my evening meal. And I have just remembered that I haven't yet written any release notes for 226c. cheers, Martin. posted: 10 Jun 2020 22:52 from: Gordon S No problem at all, I'm certainly not upset and extremely grateful for the time and effort you give to all of us. ...

... left as it can go. This is to avoid obstructing your view of the template while referring to its menu. For multiple monitors I assumed that users would a) have the primary monitor on the left, and b) have Templot running across all monitors, or running on the left one(s) only with other stuff on the right. I can change the pop-up position, but I have a feeling that wherever I put it will be wrong for someone. I will look at putting it in a draggable tool window, so that you can move it to wherever you want. Note that you don't have to mouse all across the screen to it. In 082d and later, most items on the menu have underlined accelerator keys. So to z oom pad to fit you can just click on the template and then press Z on the keyboard. regards, Martin. posted: 10 Apr 2008 21:46 from: jeckardt I can accept "by design". ... screen. The toolbar could stay on screen while you zoom or scroll and then delete it when you have finished with it. From a purely personal point of view, I like to keep mouse operation to an absolute minimum and many years ago passed the mouse to the left hand keeping the right hand free for the keyboard. John posted: 12 Dec 2017 19:55 from: Martin Wynne Hi John, Many thanks for that. By coincidence I have been doing a bit more on the toolbars. I have added a draggable panel top left, which can be moved around the screen at will and the toolbars will follow. There are buttons to choose between 2 rows or 1 long single row: 2_121442_510000001.png 2_121442_510000002.png 2_121442_510000000.png At the medium program size, the 2 rows just fit within 1024 screens, the 1 row just fits within 1920 screens. In the event it doesn't quite fit, the panel can be dragged off-screen left a little: 2_130856_490000000.png The settings are saved between sessions in your saved program preferences (if used). ... on the trackpad. This does not make for comfortable working- especially not for the mouse-action panel and the mouse actions. I have spent all day today chasing this stuff round in circles. It can all be fixed, but not quickly or easily. It may be that if I had spent 25 years using Lazarus, as I have with Delphi, I would know a simple solution to all this. But as it is I don't, and the only practical way seems to be to use a home-made draggable TPanel component instead. Which is certainly doable, interesting even, but definitely not quick. Or possibly to look for some 3rd party ready-made open-source component instead. There are plenty of closed-source paid-for components such as those from DevExpress, but we can't use those in an open-source project: http://www.devexpress.com/products/vcl/ What I think I'm saying here is that the dream of switching everything to Templot3 from Templot2 in the next few months is looking a bit ...

The problem only shows when I either move the pointer quickly in a random fashion or if I move it very slowly across from 6ft and the crash occurs when I get around the 8ft mark. I've replaced the chunky slider with a draggable red marker: 2_161904_160000000.png That's not a Windows control, so I've been able to reduce the timer to 10 mS without the CPU usage going any higher. Which means the dragging is now as smooth as before. It's a serious bug in that it crashes Templot, so even though I haven't been able to cause it to happen here I will probably release yet another update with this fix quite soon. cheers, Martin. posted: 17 Jun 2020 00:33 from: Rob Manchester Hi Martin, Sorry to have caused ...
