... them being operated together? Best wishes, Howard Hi Howard. That is the problem of publishing one page of a manual intended for personal use out of context. I suspected that further explanation would be required. A,B ,C ,D are the four controller buses nominally available to switch to a track section. Ind is short for Industrial and is the power station empire. If you have operated the layout you will know what I mean by that. Controller D is permanently connected to this. Ex is short for extra and is unused at present. The three switch poles on section feeds 1- 12 are individual relay contacts. The long term plan was for micro processor control of the signal box interlocking and power feeds to sections 1 to 12 will be selected using 2 bit binary control, hence only one relay contact can be made at a time with "00" being off. At present, as a temporary measure and we all know about those, only controllers A and B are available via centre off toggle switches, in effect ...

It turns out I only had to make a mirror image of the chairs on the straight stock rail. posted: 3 Mar 2016 05:52 from: Andrew Barrowman I eventually came up with this method of making the chairs for the crossing. This one is a V 7.0, but this method works for any crossing angle. First, extra wide jaws are positioned at the intersection of the timber center-lines and the rails then aligned with the rails. 2983_030012_300000000.png Here they are in plan view. 2983_030013_150000000.jpg Profile "masks" aligned perpendicular to the axis of the crossing (green line) are added. So this frequent assumption that both should somehow work the same way seems very strange to me. Apart from anything else, the usage conditions are very different. Word you might launch and exit a dozen times in an hour. With Templot it's much more likely that you start it once and then leave it running for a whole evening. So a few extra clicks at startup is neither here nor there. In that respect at least it's more like a CAD program. My real exasperation is that those who want Templot "more like Windows" never explain in detail what they actually want changed. The few suggestions that have been made invariably involve a significant reduction in functionality, and I'm not prepared to do that. But when I increase the template length by, say, 100mm it adds an extra section of lead track (as it should), but the ties for that extra lead are all "shifted" by a tie width from where they should be. This results in a pair of close-spaced ties at the junction of the original template and the extra lead. Where is the definition set for this extra lead track? I expected it to be from the "plain track" definitions, but that doesn't seem to be the case (i.e., changing the "plain track" definition doesn't seem to alter the spacing of the extra lead. In these instances I just simply kept omitting the timber until all copies of it had gone. In this last instance, just a few minutes ago, I had aligned a turnout template and then did a make branch track, and when the track appeared it had these extra B4 timbers at the peg end (previous events always had the extra B4 timbers at the peg end). Photographic Evidence is always the best reference source. Whilst I accept that extra long crossing timbers are used throughout, for whatever reason, it should perhaps be born in mind that due to our unprototypically tight curves producing extra wide track spacing the result can be somewhat exaggerated. Be that as it may, all the crossing timbers should be wide (4.00mm in this case), I have altered those that aren't, and spaced them more to the rail joints and made the timbering symmetrical with the crossing vee A timber the first through one in both cases.
