I have selected different turnouts no problem, but when I try and insert it, the programme defaults back to a B7. In fact I have gone ahead and provided it in the next program update. But it desperately needs a keyboard shortcut for bay 1. We have CTRL+ P and CTRL+ R for park and retrieve in bay 1, but there are no spare shortcuts available to use for exchange. Except perhaps CTRL+ V. That is still available for store& background in addition to the INSERT key and the` key (back-quote, top-left key on UK keyboards). Hi Mike, Building up a track plan by gradually assembling individual pieces isn't really the best way to use Templot. It works, but it doesn't always produce flowing pointwork through curves, and it is not very prototypical, at least for plain track. Have a look at this video, and you will see that no individual track pieces are ever fitted together. What you normally do is to create the running track alignments and then insert pointwork into them. That usually means extending the initial template length, splitting off part of it, inserting pointwork in it. Then extending it again and repeating the process: http://www.templot.com/martweb/videos/flash/starter/em_starter.html Sorry it's now a rather old video. When the insert turnout into plain track is chosen what is the default? Can that be changed. I model to North American standards with very different tie(sleeper) sizes and spacing. I have templates from someone that has gone to the effort to do both an 11 foot and a 16' 6" trunout along with a straight section of offset regular track. Thanks to whomever did this. I would like to be able to use one or the other of these turnout standards or another that I may obtain or design as the turnout insert into the plain track. Is this possible? How can it be done? I made the assumption that Templot would insert USA turnouts into the track at the required points on the plans (using Template -> Insert turnout into plain track). However I found out tonight (WAY too late to do anything about it) that, for example, a #6 turnout on my Templot plan is NOT a #6 USA turnout, well at least not according to both the proto87 website or the templates available on handlaidtrack.com.
