You can buy 4mm items from Scalefour or EMGS stands at shows without being a member Hi Rob, I think the entrance ticket gives you day membership of the society. There may be legal issues related to supplying goods to non-members -- sale of goods acts, trade description, product liability insurance, health& safety, refunds, etc. It will be interesting to see how the online web site operates if quote "Exactoscale Products is not a company but an informal cooperative group of modellers". ... some years ago but wisely declined to provide details because of liability issues). This is also a concern here. In Sunny Queensland, it is a criminal offence to even open the lid on your analog, DC controller unless you are a certified electrician but, bizarrely, you can build one yourself and then get a 'competent' person to certify the workmanship and then seal it!! As there is a cost involved the situation is that 'hobbyists' continue to fabricate what they want and hope that their construct never becomes an insurance issue. Prosecutions for DIY are unheard of. It's a funny old world. ... return side). Absolutely right Martin, though in this I confess to being a cautious beggar, I insulate both rails at the section gaps and connect the rear-side rails to the common return through isolation switches mounted under the boards. That way, if a short suddenly appears, I can separately isolate both rails to narrow down the potential causes. I doubt others would find this such a useful precaution (not everyone has Nickel-silver point rodding running under all the rails). But it is something of an insurance policy! But each to their own. ... It may not be 100%, but I think it might pass muster at usual viewing distances. Cheers Phil. Thanks Phil. I think maybe a small L section would be stronger. Flexing of the blades won't be an issue as I intend to model the older type of Swiss turnouts that were of the loose heel design. Whether this is true I do not know. Bernard posted: 2 Mar 2020 17:45 from: Andrew Barrowman Thank you Bernard. I would think there will be a weld at that location and it would make a lot of sense to add those stiffeners to prevent the weld failing. ... The purpose of Templot3 is a. to provide a means of continuing with your project if Templot2 becomes unavailable for any reason (such as a my being run over by a bus!), and b. to invite others to get involved in future programming developments of Templot in whatever direction they wish to take it. While I continue to develop Templot2, at least for the present. At present by default when saving, Templot2 invites you to create a MECBOX file in addition to a BOX file, as a form of insurance. If your work is not critical, you may choose not to bother with that. You can try running Templot3 from the T3 menu in Templot2 if you wish, but I suggest you return to Templot2 for actual work -- quite a lot of Templot2 functions are still missing from Templot3. cheers, Martin.
