I'm not that sure it's important anyhow, as the peg is on the FP and we don't really care what happens to the switch. Hi Richard, If you don't lock the switch when using F5 you will get sudden step changes in the turnout radius through curviform V-crossings, when Templot jumps to the next most appropriate switch size for the crossing angle. This may not affect the final result, but it can be very irritating if you are in the middle of a fine close-up adjustment. Note that such jumping doesn't happen for a custom switch, so an alternative to locking the switch is to use a custom switch on the template. This also lets you adjust the switch heel angle to fine-tune the turnout radius, but repeated iterations can be very tedious. All this changes in the next ...

What happens is, that when I use F5 to adjust the turnout side of a switch, it occasionally causes the switch settings to jump to another setting, in my case the switch jumped from a 9ft to an 18ft when I moved the mouse to adjust. Now the process was to select F5, then Select length free, then, Select switch locked, then To move the mouse to adjust. I then did the same again to adjust in the other direction, and found when I moved the mouse on this occasion, the switch had changed setting to 18ft. All the mouse movements were done slowly so as not to over-adjust. Now I know I could have done the ...

In this model that is the fixed wheel with the others compensated with traditional Sharman three point compensation. So I think it likely that the back to back on the rear drivers is a little tight. It may get a bit boring watching it go back and forth, back and forth but I wanted to demonstrate to myself that I could build track that worked and just in case it stops working between now and whenever it's taken for a run next, ...

As to the example file you pointed me towards, I am having some difficulty with creating the partial template for the NG element when resizing the turnout. Although starting with a 9ft GW switch, the 'Switch Setting' increases to GW 10ft and then between V5.85 and V5.89 jumps rapidly to GW 12ft. This causes the turnout crossing rail to jump either side of the partial template for the wing rail already created. The steps I've followed so far are: 1. Create base turnout (wider track gauge) 1.1. In this example it is a GWR 9ft v5 Regular turnout 1.2. 'Omit rails' – leave Turnout stock, Turnout check, Vee, and Main check rail. 1.3.
