... topic: 3337 How to defeat the internet check in Templot2 posted: 3 Oct 2018 14:24 from: Martin Wynne I was stopped in my tracks this week by this: http://www.scalefour.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f =5 &t =6066 and I've been thinking about the future of Templot. There is clearly no point in the internet check on start-up, it has failed. It will be removed in the next program update. In the meantime it can be defeated on the current version of Templot2 as follows: 1. on the first splash screen click the small TM trade mark symbol before you click anything else. 2. the colour dialog will appear. Set red=10, green=20, blue=30, click OK. 3. click GO in the usual way. 2_030905_020000000.png Martin. posted: 3 Oct 2018 16:18 from: Paul Boyd Hi Martin I have mixed feelings about this post, but mostly sadness. ... on paper templates? 3. So far I have fully defined only the REA S1 (3 -screw) chairs. But it would now be possible to create plain track bases using them, to any length, curved or straight, in any scale or gauge. Should I be looking to release a program update in the shorter term allowing only that much? So that folks can experiment with 3D printing from Templot files? It might be some time before I can get all the special chairs defined for turnouts. In the meantime it would be useful to have some feedback from users about the files and any tweaks needed. The downside of that is that word will go round the web forums that Templot "can only do plain track", an idea which will then be difficult to shift. It is remarkable the way that so many folks ALWAYS get the wrong end of a stick. It's no wonder that "fake news" is so effective. ... 2015 17:03 from: Martin Wynne Thanks for the file Chris. You have found two bugs. 1. make branch track does not ensure both rails are generated for the plain track if one or both of the stock rails is being omitted from the original turnout. Likewise for make split, although it's moot whether that is a bug. 2. if the original turnout is a gaunt turnout, make branch track corrupts the track gauge. I will get these bugs fixed. Many thanks for reporting them. In the meantime, if you insert a turnout in the transition template, change it from a gaunt turnout to a normal one, and then convert back to plain track, all should be well. regards, Martin. posted: 9 Jan 2015 11:32 from: Chris Copplestone Hi Martin, thanks for the tip regards Chris Parts of Templot Club may not function unless you enable JavaScript (also called Active Scripting) in your browser. You can put a duplicate template under each one, with its rail "width" set to a dummy dimension to give the outer rail foot line.
