... topic: 3030 Currently Unnamed 4-SF layout posted: 22 May 2017 15:27 from: Michael Henfrey Hello all, This is my current plan for my 4-sf layout in the loft. Being just less than 15ft square I decided against sharp curves and shortish straights and went for a long approx 6ft radius curve to make it look a little more realistic. The line going to the top left of the plan leads to a branch fiddleyard and the whole plan is based loosely off Pontrillas but I will set it more on a lms/lner line maybe. I have added in some extra sidings and such at the top for some added interest that I might play around with a little later. As for the station itself It has 2 mainline platforms and a bay with loop for the branch line and also for the goods trains to shunt around on to keep the main clear. The issues I have: 1. I have made a single slip on the mainline, I followed the video tutorial and I think I have done it ...

... topic: 236 Mostyn: Fiddle Yard design posted: 15 Nov 2007 21:18 from: Richard Oldfield Dear all, Here is the design of the fiddle yard on our P4 layout, Mostyn, as it will shortly become following two minor modifications:- the introduction of road 17 as a loop from road 16- the introduction of a trailing siding from road 16 for the storage of light engines I'm afraid that not all of the scenic section of Mostyn was 'templotted'- some of it dates from the dark and distant age when we played with paper templates before realising that the complex areas would need the help of Templot. The ruling minimum radius on this design is 1200mm. ... topic: 743 Scroll/zoom direction poll posted: 28 Feb 2009 11:28 from: Martin Wynne Dear all, I'm in two minds about the default scroll/zoom direction in Templot. At present it defaults to scroll (on the zoom/pan dialog). This corresponds to the more usual Windows scroll functions -- in which you are moving an imaginary viewing aperture over the surface of the page. It also means that rolling the mouse wheel back towards you zooms out, rolling it forward away from you zooms in. But I have always preferred the paper option, which works in the opposite sense on both panning functions and zoom -- i.e. you are moving the page itself. This corresponds more naturally to how you handle a paper document. If you want to read the bottom of a page you push it up, you don't pull something down. If you want to examine it closely, you pull it towards you. paper_scroll_options.png Since implementing the very handy drag panning function (in version 091c) which essentially works in ...

I hope it is in the correct format and in the right forum (couldn't find a way of changing the forum for this message). I'm working in S4-X and have an awkward arrangement of a tandem turnout with a running line intersecting it. The running line diverges from the left-hand arm of the tandem and runs across the other two arms. The problems I have are in the detailing: (1) how do I make the diamonds when they're within the bounds of the turnout? I've resorted to crafting the V and K crossings individually using the gaunt turnout procedure for adding a third V to a tandem turnout. The Vs I can cope with but the Ks are more awkward, especially when trying to match the radii involved. I'm sure there must be a more elegant solution somewhere but I'm afraid it eludes me. The ...
