... topic: 141 Add a .box file reference when printing posted: 25 Aug 2007 10:52 from: Peter Salathiel Hi Martin, I admit I am not a methodical worker but I just can't figure out the best way to keep my Templot .box files. My problem is that I "name" a printout, so that I know where it came from, but then forget to change it on the next printing. The only way that I can keep track of things is to move my "project name" AFTER the Templot time stamp. In other words all my Templot .box files are now identifed, and arranged in order chronoogically. A couple of questions: 1) What is the recommended method of keeping track of printouts and their associated .box files. I think I know the answer but it is all to easy to click "print" and finish up with the wrong name. 2) Any chance of making the default printout name the time stamp of the file? I admit that this problem occurs because I am using Templot ( ...

... topic: 1044 Print Alignment Problems posted: 9 Feb 2010 22:40 from: David Hiya Guys Been reading through forum for similar problem and could only find Possible Printer Calibration issues. I am fairly condident that my Printer is Calibrated ok, yet I am having fairly big discrepancies over 3 A4 sheets joined together in Landscape origination. During printer configuration the outer box of the printout measures 180mm x 240mm, yet when the proof sheet is printed out the horizontal bar measures 150mm, but the vertical bar only measures 249.5mm, instead of the 250mm expected. The Roller Factor is 100% and the Head Factor is 100%. On printout of a few sheets of A4 paper to join together, the grid spacings seem really good at 50mm(they had been 52mm), yet on a staggered A4 paper layout, when jointing together, the placing of an A4 sheet centred on the joint of 2 A4 sheets below, show the sheet out of alignment by 1mm at either end of the sheet. The only reason I would question this, is ...

I still did not get a perfect alignment. The Inner box was off by 1 mm in each direction. I put in the actual measurements. Now the shaded cross dimensions are 1 mm too big in each direction. ... topic: 1420 Comparison of N and 2mm Fine Scale gauges printout posted: 15 Mar 2011 12:07 from: kenbec I have decided to use code 40 track but haven't yet decided whether to use the N or 2mmFS gauge width for the standard track. As a test to allow me to create test straight track in both gauges I created a simple 500mm length drawing in N for UK gauge and printed it. I then changed to 2mmFS gauge using the gauge/scale selector and printed it. In both cases the Information Panel showed the correct gauge of 9mm and 9.42mm respectively. The printouts were identical. Does this mean that changing the gauge is not possible after a track template has been created? I thought from other reading that a change as simple as this was possible. Is the only way I can get a printout of a 2mm 9.42mm gauge straight by creating it as an original? This is not a problem with the turnouts I have designed as I intend to still use the 9mm standard in their case. Regards, ken PS ...

What did you ask Templot to print? If you used the print now option there are three choices, print just the control template (the black and grey one) or print all the background templates (the blue ones) or print group (only available if a group is selected. These options will produce an uncalibrated printout whose accuracy is not guaranteed. For a more accurate printout use the Output option, which is far more flexible, but you must set up the printer at the bottom of this menu first. It does not need to be converted to a PDF unless you are going to have it commercially printed. Regards Tony. ... topic: 1421 Templot Crash posted: 18 Mar 2011 00:51 from: Rob Manchester Hi Martin, I was just about to post a message asking about CPU usage while using Templot. Sometimes whilst running the program the CPU load increases by a large amount, as in :- 2001_171937_140000000.png The PC is a dual core 3.2Ghz P4 with 4GB ram running XP. Sometimes the system fan speed ramps up as an indicator that the CPU is getting hotter when performing certain tasks such as preparing a printout. I noticed tonight that if you leave the program in certain menus/dialogue boxes such as editing sleepering data or shoving timbers it also puts a heavy load on the CPU. If the user wants to change the orientation for either output, they change the way it is displayed first. Mark C posted: 18 Jul 2012 06:26 from: Mark C Martin, In Templot2, the page outlines are different sizes for Printer and PDF. Obviously, a printout of the outputed PDF file doesn't match the page sent directly to the printer.
