... topic: 1524 Exactoscale Company is not responding posted: 31 May 2011 13:01 from: Dellboy Hi I have two outstanding orders with Exactoscale with no explanation advised. Recent attempts to contact them by phone regarding the orders has produced 'unavailable' and their message leaving service is full. Obviously a backlog is building up. No clues on their web page. Does any one know what is amiss with Exactoscale ?? posted: 31 May 2011 13:19 from: David R When I last spoke to Len in April he had just been diagnosed with potentially quite a serious condition after several months of ongoing illness. They now know what the problem is and he is finally getting the appropriate treatment. However, during this time, he has not been able to devote as much time to the Exactoscale business as he would normally, so some things have been delayed. I would suggest (even more) patience, snail-mail correspondence (it does still work sometimes), and ensure that any email has the word EXACTOSCALE in the subject line ...

It really is 12.6" radius. I suggest doing this: 1. Change the B-6 turnout to a 12ft switch. You shouldn't really be using REA switches in the NBR period anyway. 2. Change it to 1:5.5 crossing angle. 3. Change it to a curviform type V-crossing. All that produces a turnout radius of about 43" 4. Move the turnout back a little bit. 5. do tools> make branch track. 6. do make transition from there to the existing goods road. I can import image files into Autocad and put them onto a layer, I can then load in the DXF file generated by Templot, but at this time I cannot get the two to link and align. Also there is a prolem of overlaying the DXF file. I can draw directly onto the image file and produce a DWG or DXF output but, need to get the track-work showing on the drawing produced, which it wont at this time. Anyhow, I am certain there is nothing wrong with Templot and all the problems are at my end. ... )? It's not wrong, but you need to have a reason. I think the majority of scissors crossovers would be at the standard 6ft way spacing. That makes the construction clearances rather tight, but on the other hand widening the spacing affects the surrounding track plan. You need a wider spacing of course on sharply curved tracks for vehicle clearance, but this one is only down to 10 chains radius and the standard spacing would be sufficient (that's over 8ft radius in P4). Your method of creating the initial outline produces a non-symmetrical scissors. Again it's not wrong, but I think the majority of scissors crossovers would be symmetrical unless there is an obvious need otherwise. To be symmetrical the CTRL-5 TXP position on all 4 turnouts needs to be coincident at the centre of the diamond. I've written before about creating a scissors crossover, most recently in this topic: Bristol Temple Meads. That's not a very obvious heading for this subject, so here are those notes again:____ The basic procedure to create ...

I had taken your standard advice of "testing" their printer with a smaller format (although that was A1)- obviously that was a standard size for them and had a known fixed charge- it was £9.00, which works out at £4.50 a foot in effect- quite a difference. If you are happy to accept that all your point servos rotate their horns through something like 90 degrees and you are willing to adjust the throws at the point tie-bars mechanically you do not need a fancy electronic controller. All you need is one (incredibly cheap- think 1.00 GBP) pulse generator that can feed positioning pulses to as many servos as you like. This method also significantly reduces the number of wires hanging around under your layout and it can take care of frog polarity too. ... 1 Jun 2016 17:06 from: Tony W Hi Kelly. I have sorted several issues for you. The most serious is how the diamonds were joined at the centre as they were overlapped. Not sure how you achieved that! If you use the tools menu and create a diamond crossing or a ladder crossover from an existing turnout, Templot will generate the diamond correctly (at the adjacent track centre spacing in the latter instance). I have altered the track spacing to 45mm centres for the lower two tracks as this produces better alignment of the timbering where they overlap. There were a couple of misaligned track joints. I have redone the slip road for you. The slip switches are toward the bottom of the the list of switch types available. They are joined by a length of plain track with no sleepers. Your junction had the turnouts staggered, but in the wrong direction, which reduces the track spacing between the diverging roads. The turnout on the inner curve of the junction should be set in advance of the outer one to increase ...
