... tape on top of the normal blue painter's tape. Howard. posted: 13 Aug 2015 14:00 from: Les G I have read about the problems of adhesion on unheated plates. There appears to be a high level of frustration from those who describe the need for cleaning off adhesive prior to fitting new tape. Contrast that with a 30 second wipe and polish with a bit of paper towel and a dab of methylated spirit. In my view, the heated plate solution is the logical way to go. It also provides a very smooth base surface which can be used to advantage. BTW, I can if required produce the images in any format you wish: PNG, GIF, BMP, PDF, TIFF. However, it would seem the requirement is for GIF format, so that's what will be provided. The image does indeed look great on the workpad view, and as you say, if we can get more of the like we should see some nice looking track plans in the future. One point I would like to stress is, I think when people do draw any images, it is advisable they should, where possible draw to scale, particularly if the drawing is of an actual real life site and for true scale modelling, such as P4, S7 etc. The reason I say this is, because ...

Part of the problem I now realise is that the schematic in the ECoS is based on a grid system and is split in two. I said earlier that I could probably cope looking at the mimic and ignoring the layout. The ECoS doesn't show platforms or any text and it doesn't really cope with positions of turnouts relative to each other. Providing I can see an in, through and out on one diagram and lit accordingly, it may well be an option. I would prefer either a replica of the actual track plan or a single straight line schematic.
