The problem is that C:\TEMPLOT_DEV\boxmru.txt has become read-only. Try simply deleting it (it's the "recent files" list). If it won't delete, right-click on it in the folder, click Properties, and untick the Read-only box. Click OK. I don't want a browser that I can't trust. Incidentally, this recent security problem is just another in a very long line, but for some reason this one has made the news- slow news day. If you actually look at what Windows Update is installing every month, security fixes for Internet Explorer feature very heavily and always have done. ... way diffing, so I have just opened the above 3 versions of keep_select.pas, and there are so many differences that I hardly know where to begin. What seems obvious is that doing this every time any one of a group of programmers changes something in one file, with consequent changes needed in some other file, it is going to take 10 times longer than making the actual change in the first place. How do other groups manage this? We don't currently have an updated set of files on SourceForge with some of the recent changes, however formatted. For example it is possible to produce a little plan like this, starting from a length of straight plain track, without ever joining anything to anything. Templot does all that for you: starter.png There is a video showing this plan being created at: http://www.templot.com/martweb/videos/overlay_rough_sketch.exe I made that video last year as a quick guide for Russ, and it is only recently that I have realised what an excellent introduction it is to the most common track planning functions in Templot. It does in fact include a rough sketch background guide, but I'm minded to remake it without that as a full tutorial video. Of course, if you do want to join individual templates there are functions for that. Phil mentioned the F7 snapping function (version 082d on), which is quick and easy. During the recent thread, there was mention made of the difficulty in using DXF files exported from Templot in other programmes. I have to say that I have not found this to be a problem. I have put together a set of images to illustrate this. The first image shows a DXF file exported from Templot and imported into my CAD programme (Rhinoceros). I did not use Templot to create the diamond in the Scissors crossing in this instance. This scissors crossing is using 4 off B8 turnouts and is to P4 ...

So that it can't be left showing wrong info if you then click a different template. The obvious way forward would be for it to update the info when a template is clicked, in which case it doesn't need to be modal and could be the same one for both.
