Throughout this process I have made a number of misteaks (Spelling error intentional) but I have learned much about both track work and how Templot works to make partial templates that are used to produce some fantastic trackwork. Hope this helps all. Regards John P in Alberta posted: 18 Mar 2009 09:32 from: Pete Brownlow Hi Martin, I sympathise with you- I do IT support and you do occasionally get users who will take their frustrations out on you. I had a user recently who seriously told me that the solution I was proposing to his problem was unacceptable because it meant he would have to think about it! My suggestion (and I think you should do this with all of us Templot users) is to respond that technical support (with the exception perhaps of licensing queries) is NOT available by private email and must be done by posting to this forum. This is similar to Nigel's proposed response, but slightly stronger in that I think you should require users to post problems here rather than ...

It seems that if you hadn't read them before I moved them, your N symbol gets lost on the moved topic itself, but appears correctly against the new forum. In other words, your problem is not an unwanted N, but a missing N on a topic which you have not read. You can catch up with all recent topics by clicking the Recent Topics button. ... suffered corruption in the database and has been recompiled. +++ Hello, With a view to entering the 2mm Scale Association Layout Challenge I've been working on producing a plan to form a suitable base for Templot templates to be produced over. My chosen prototype is the "Old Station" at Bristol Temple Meads, which for those that don't know it can be seen here: http://tinyurl.com/5xywn4 As the track is entirely under an overall roof the track arrangement unfortunately doesn't show on Ordnance Survey plans. However, I recently chanced across a 1908 plan in the GWR Magazine. Although my period of interest is the late 50s, early 60s as far as I can ascertain there were little or no per way alterations since that time. Anyway, I've overlaid this GWR plan on an OS map and this is what I've achieved... templot1.jpg It took a bit of skewing and stretching but I'm very pleased with the result. I'm going to work out more accurate stretcher bar locations and confirm the track centres of the 4 lines within the Brunel ...

(You may remember the push to have the subject of a photo to have monetary rights granted as well). Images work the same way. But once dead the copyright cannot be renewed by transferring to a new medium. With the NSWGR drawings that I'm hunting down I've had reason to reproduce some very large plans of surveys from 1908 for personal use. These are 6 x 2 metres. Till recently the process of reproducing these items digitally has been prohibitive. Plus there was no way to handle and utilise a 100% 600ppi copy. Now I can handle these on my laptop with no problems. The only issue on hard copies is finding a printer large enough. But it wasn't free. Even with a discount on the camera reproduced copying done within the NSW Government's own departments it was several hundred dollars before I even had to pay for digitally stitching the item together. If you are using Windows10 you may have noticed that in one of the recent updates Microsoft have changed the way the mouse wheel works. Generally this is a Good Thing, except when it isn't. There is a lot of discussion about this on the Windows forums, but as usual it seems to be impossible to find definitive information from Microsoft. The change applies to all software, not only Templot. I haven't made any changes in Templot itself. What now happens is that wheel events go to whichever window the mouse happens to be over, regardless of whether that window has focus or whether some other window is showing modal. Except in the case of child windows, where the wheel events now go always to the parent window, and there doesn't seem to be any way for a child window to receive wheel events. What does this mean in Templot? Generally it means that ...

Shirebrook West junction, just beyond the bridge also has the same centre to centre distance according to http://shirebrookdieseldepot.co.uk/renewals.html If I measure from the plan though it appears to be more like 12'8".- The curvature along the main up and down is not constant which is not really a surprise but I am struggling to match it in Templot as I cannot see any consistency along the curve, it appears continuously to vary. I have recently been working on a project with a friend of mine, who has recently started out in 7mm. As you will see from the attached photo and file. The project consists of two parts; a permanent fixed running loop with fiddle yard and a integrated layout that has been designed to exhibit. The outside loop, which contains a double slip, two points and a passing loop on one side and a ladder fiddleyard on the other side. This has been designed based on 32mm Peco track work, this part of the layout has already been built and is just about up and running. However Templot makes it very difficult to lose significant amounts of data. By default, every time you save your work it creates a new file.
