... ... Martin, I think your user-support is excellent and you have helped me out several times. Having read what you said about the irregular diamonds code being 5 years old however, almost makes me wish I had not distracted you. I think there is a fine line between providing user support, and providing a layout-design consultancy service and it is very important not to cross that line- perhaps your desire to support the user means that sometimes you get pulled over that line. This might cause "resentment" :specs:- for example, I spent a week of spare time building a complex junction with half a million irregular diamonds- (well, almost 200 partial templates) which I posted in this forum- only to find that someone else has got you to do it for them. there might be two reasons why I do not respond to posts requesting help... 1. you beat me to it 2. I am not confident that I have the right answer to give. What to do about ...

... , I spent many hours 'getting to grips' with the program and I still have a lot to learn but my experience so far has been extremely rewarding. Many thanks also to the fellow Templot users who have assisted with the development of the Torr Giffard trackplan so far. My Toshiba laptop with its Windows 7 operating system had no problems printing to my Hewlett Packard A3 Deskjet printer. Best regards Dave posted: 24 Jun 2012 14:29 from: Paul Boyd Hi Martin I guess some people can't be bothered! I slightly resent the implication that the only people who can now use Templot are "nerds who like the challenge". That's a load of crap, to put it bluntly, quite apart from the fact that the new version is far less challenging than the old because of all the improvements that have been made. It's also easy enough to download and install the current version by simply following links- from opening the Templot.com home page, it was click, scroll down whilst reading the words, click and save. How much easier can ...

... pay-grade! It's easy to go back, but replicating the same sky and lighting a second time is of course impossible. With the autumn colours soon here I will go back and have another go -- this time with the gate open. Looking west at SO 25414 77447 if anyone else wants to have a go. cheers, Martin. posted: 18 Nov 2018 10:20 from: dave turner Martin (v2.19b) As a long term user of Templot, and having bought the .98 version, I slightly resented the necessity to have an internet connection. At the time I was often in areas that had an unreliable internet connection. However I did understand your reasoning. May I suggest that you continue with the automatic update but ignore any requests/questions on the forum that do not clearly state that they are using the latest version. If someone wants to circumvent your update system that is down to them, truthfully I like the option to do so; but you should not be considerate of those who do not maintain their own ...
