... topic: 654 Making a screen shot posted: 4 Dec 2008 14:10 from: Gordon S I'm sure this has been covered before but searches on jpeg and screenshot have failed to throw out the answer. I have been asked to show my track plan by various people either on RMWeb or just emails between friends. How can I take a simple screenshot in jpeg format that can be sent by electronic mail? Clearly it can be done as I have seen screenshots appear in the railway modelling press and in this forum. Can someone please tell me how it's done? Many thanks. posted: 4 Dec 2008 15:01 from: Martin Wynne Gordon S wrote: How can I take a simple screenshot in jpeg format that can be sent by electronic mail? Hi Gordon, 1. Arrange your screen as required. 2. Press the PrintScreen key on the keyboard -- it's usually just to the right of F12. Soldering and track construction are black arts for many folk. I only get 3-4 questions by email each day, because most folk tend to telephone. It just comes with the territory I guess. But as I have said many times before, the weakness of Templot is the lack of simple 'How to..' guides, published in written form. Videos and quick snapshots on screen are all very well, but they can never take the place of written text. ... topic: 3353 Interconnected track- how to divide, and a better diverging arrangement posted: 13 Nov 2018 08:01 from: William Williamson Good morning chaps! I posted this question on RMWeb and Mr. Wynne suggested here might be more fertile ground for discussion. I've got a relatively simple arrangement of trackwork in my station throat, which I have divided for ease of construction into three meta arrangements of A, B and C: ATzhaRq.png I tink A and C are relatively straight forward- simple B6 crossovers though C has an extra B6 interleaved. The issue appears to be with the formation at B- as Martin has pointed, it is not possible for both turnout routes to be occupied simultaneously (in model form) without there being a conflict. Now, this isn't something that keeps me up at night: I'll be a sole operator and if not I find it hard to believe that this will be a frequent enough conflicting movement to cause problems (seeing as the bottom right road out of the junction is a carriage siding). ...

The point motors need to be mounted so that they clear the end plates of the board (22mm softwood). I am struggling to get a layout that has both point tie bars on the board. I want to try to keep to a minimum 6' radius and accept that the down main (Outer track) will have a switched frog. I have tried to use the command 'create simple crossover TS'. This creates another nice Xover with a 1:22.5 point which is far to long on the inner track. If I then shrink the point with F5 the curvature goes haywire and I can't get it to match up. Can anyone help. idealy the tie bars need to be about 50mm from the end of the board. So if you do it too, you will get two templates stored. For example, if you have a turnout in the control template and you want to make a crossover, you just click the tools> make simple crossover menu item. You don't store it first. Look for the word make in the menus. In practice when creating a simple track plan, you rarely need to store anything because Templot does it all for you.
