I moved the turnout template 25mm to the right so that I could create an S-transition in place of the reverse curve. I then made a branch track from the turnout, and used the make simple link function to link it to the loop. Split the loop so that the constant 2nd radius is a separate template, inserted a LH turnout in it, and then make single-sided 3-way tandem. No idea if this is anything like what you are looking for, but it might suggest a way forward. 2_061743_110000000.png p.s. It doesn't look like a single-sided tandem, but it is. I am building my 1st O gauge layout, I have printed out a simple A5 turnout (straight) and a minimum radius of 49.5ins is quoted, the turnout looks to have a much larger radius than this, certainly 5 ft and C and L quote 6.6 feet approx for the radius. Can you please explain Thanks Richard posted: 31 Aug 2010 10:36 from: Nigel Brown Hi Richard As you will have noticed, the turnout road is a complex mix of curves and straights; the minimum radius is the sharpest of these curves. The other radius sometimes quoted is the substitution radius, which is what you would have if you replaced the whole turnout road with a curve of constant radius. The substitution radius is the larger, and is intended as an aid to producing the overall design. The minimum radius is intended to give you an idea of whether your stock ...

... reasonably be used as a guide in Templot. The reduced version which you have captured there is not going to be much help for detailed track planning. The various resampling algorithms such as Lanczos3, Triangle, Mitchell, Bspline, Bell, etc. are usually available in a graphics editor program. For example they can be selected under the Resize/Resample function in the excellent free IrfanView program. However, the differences between them are hardly noticeable for our purposes. The big difference is between using any of them, and a simple pixel shrink/stretch. But you don't need a separate program because the two options are available on the sketchboard, renamed for Templot as design quality (fast -- simple pixel shrink/stretch), and display quality (slow -- Lanczos3 resampling). More about using these options at: topic 1928 I tried adding your image (original size from the Image Gallery) to the sketchboard.
