I started a new project and then attempted to add the stored templates as additional templates. I also attempted to add the stored templates as library templates. The first template loaded appears OK in the storage box which then looks like this: 54_101119_050000000.png The "add library" button is then clicked and a second file selected and opened- as I understand the current documentation, this should add it to the storage box and the list of library templates. The storage box then looks like this: 54_101121_140000000.png So, second template appears- BUT- the first template has gone! The same problem occurs when the "add file" option is used. I have tried this several times with Templot being quit and restarted so there is no left over from the previous attempt or other templates loaded. Is this a problem with Templot's file handling or have I missed something obvious? Any assistance ...

Here are a couple of bugs, and a possible new function: 2_222059_030000000.png Clicking the info button on the storage box shows the data panel for the currently selected template. 1. minor cosmetic bug: The wording on the button is "info". The caption on the panel is "data". They ought to match -- I prefer "info". 2. functional bug: After clicking the info button the data panel appears, and updates as different templates are selected on the storage box. The panel is a child window on the trackpad, and remains showing if the storage box is closed. That's fine, but if the storage box is opened again, the data no longer updates for different selected templates, until the info button is clicked again. If it's visible it ought to update whenever the storage box is ...

... see: topic 1988 Previously, after storing a copy of the control template, the control template was automatically hidden and it was necessary to show it again to continue working with it (HOME key). Since that was nearly always wanted, Templot 205d hides it only long enough to see the stored copy, and then shows it again. If you really did want it to remain hidden, you can press the HOME key to hide it again. If you would prefer it not to be hidden at all, on the storage box untick the options> briefly hide control template on store menu option. I've felt for some time that it's confusing for beginners that the control template is hidden on doing a store& background (INSERT key). The effect is that the template has simply changed colour, rather than been stored. We can't not hide the control template on store, otherwise it's not apparent to beginners that anything has happened at all. I've now made a change which I've been intending to try for some time. I bought Templot a few years ago, plugged away at it and managed to complete a couple of track plans placing them in my storage box. Having achieved the plans I printed one out and put it away for another day in anticipation of making a start on track laying. Regrettably that didn't happen, the track plan looked a bit dog-eared when I found it with some bits missing, in the interim I had also changed my computer. Once again my thoughts turned to the old track plan and I went to the Templot Website. I had not visited templot for many months, possibly years. ... full updated set of docs, and only then switch it back on. Otherwise I shall spend the rest of my life explaining things ad hoc over and over again as new users arrive and never get time to produce the definitive user documentation. Library templates are explained on this page, see library templates in the menu on the left: http://templot.com/martweb/pug_info_1.htm but of course it is an ancient page from 2003 so needs a lot of updating. The idea is that library templates are stored in the storage box (and the .box file) for the purpose of being re-used as required in different track plans, and not as part of a specific track plan. So the only thing you can do with them is copy them to the control template. This is different from other unused templates in the storage box, which can be copied onto the trackpad as background templates directly from the storage box, and usually relate to the specific track plan under design. You can easily store any template as a library template: ...

I concluded that the notch and maybe also the peg positions were driving this behaviour and by playing around with their positions I finally achieved what I wanted.
