... were using electric motors to change points at least eighty years ago. I'm just trying to bring our layouts up to date (BTW, I can assure you I've never spent anything like $100 on a locomotive, nor do I ever intend to.) posted: 21 Aug 2020 19:33 from: Igor Kurgan @Godfrey,I understand your words and your way. But if you want something and it is just out of your financial reach...Or you just want to build(or even just for the thrill or a learning curve or...) Currently i am building 1.5 km of track in p32 for under 1 euro a meter or 3.1 yard. You must understand that a knife cuts at two sides. There are people with skills and/or with not so much money or have other needs, sorry that we exist. I can not afford to have a big boy or a aa20 on live steam, but i have the tools and the knowledge to build them and many more for under 100 euro if i ...

... quality version on YouTube, put there by the BFI. I'm not the only one. I posted it on another model forum and one response was "Fantastic Martin- good filming, excellent editing and wow, that sound-track!! I really enjoyed it." Here are the BFI notes from the YouTube page: Comprising train and track footage quickly shot just before a heavy winter's snowfall was melting, the award-winning classic that emerged from the cutting-room compresses British Rail's dedication to blizzard-battling into a thrilling eight-minute montage cut to music. Tough-as-boots workers struggling to keep the line clear are counterpointed with passengers' buffet-car comforts. In a mere half-dozen films released between 1959 and 1975, director Geoffrey Jones revealed himself as an outstanding talent, embracing industrial filmmaking as consistent with a personal style, blending movement and sound into a joyous, rhythmic whole. Brilliantly aided by Wolfgang Suschitzky's shimmering camerawork, the Oscar-nominated 'Snow' is Jones' masterpiece. It's crisply invigorating enough to induce ...

... , but have another question. In order to give some height to this layout, I've raised the whole goods loops (outer loops) by 70mm to allow them to cross over the main lines to reach either a low profile industrial area which will disguise the storage loops behind. Is there any way I can show those loops in a different colour in the sketchboard facility? I've tried changing marker colours etc, but they still show as grey on the trackplan in sketchboard. I'm still trying various things, but I'm really not thrilled by the continuous loop versus than earlier plans which had Eastwood as a terminus. Sadly it still looks a bit trainsetty. It's amazing how much space is gobbled up by 8' platforms and large radius curves....Still tomorrow is another day. 479_011844_010000000.png posted: 1 Nov 2011 23:58 from: Martin Wynne Gordon S wrote: Is there any way I can show those loops in a different colour in the sketchboard facility? ... steeper I have found a photo showing the North side and it shows how wrong memories can be http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Bushey-Oxhey-Railway-Station-Postcard-Hatch-End-Watford-Harrow-Line-4 -/ 252581686564 My view point was much further along, you can see the start of the embankment on the left which was behind the coal yard, it gradually rose in height to the water tower for the troughs and Oxhey Road bridge. As a youngster it was quite a thrill to slightly decent what was quite a steep embankment, though not quite as severe as remembered posted: 14 Apr 2020 12:51 from: Martin Wynne Hayfield wrote: As a child I watched the West Coast Mainline above the southern end of Bushey (& Oxhey) station from the embankment high above whilst my dad attended his allotment.
