If Templot starts when you click on the files, they must be background shapes files( .bgs files). The background shapes should then appear on the trackpad. They should get transferred to the sketchboard when you click the sketchboard button. If the above isn't clear, please post the file here as an attachment. Generally I don't advise starting Templot by clicking on its files. The easiest way to copy the folder across is to first copy it onto a USB memory stick. Transfer the memory stick to the new computer and then copy the folder from the stick to the new computer. There has to be a limit somewhere -- the difficulty is in specifying what it is, because all systems are different. Here is a tiny bit of it on the trackpad with a turnout aligned over it. I hope this small section falls within fair dealing for copyright purposes: 2_040506_390000000.png I was pleasantly surprised to find zooming and panning on the trackpad quite fast and smooth. It wouldn't transfer to the sketchboard in the default metafile format -- I got a streaming "out of memory" error, not really surprising. But by changing to the manual option to add the trackplan item in bitmap format, and using the boundary rectangle* option (the green outline above), it did work. ... the C:\TEMPLOT_DEV\BOX-FILES\ folder. Your previous storage box files were in the C:\TEMPLOT\BOX-FILES\ folder, so you need to navigate back to there in the file load dialog. That assumes of course that you are still using the same computer, or all your files were copied from your old computer when you changed it. The printing firm I use does a lot of architectural drawing reproductions, so need to keep their equipment up-to-date and in good order. They have a real preference for PDF as it has less issues with re-sizing during the transfer from computer to printing. This is one of the reasons I was happy to update to the TDV version, as the printers were not sure if they could handle dfx files. The four 500mm x 4550mm sheets I had printed today are as good as near perfect dimensionally. The first thing I checked as the first sheet came off was the gauge of the track, done with a vernier calliper. It was spot on. As were the grid divisions. ... track), I managed to put together the first rough draft this week after a delay due updating both the Apple and Windows OS. Running the current version of Templot in Windows 7 on Apple bootcamp. (Martin, I'm liking this version a lot) It was saved as a one sheet 1000 mm x 9000 mm pdf. (Using a firm that prints architectural plans). Templot says it has saved correctly, and the Templot preview looks good but when opened in Adobe all I get is a blank page. Have transferred the pdf file to the Apple OS side of the computer and it is the same, though Apple's "Preview" showed the templates perfectly so the information is there, but I will throw it through the printer tomorrow Australian time and see what happens and post the result, in the meantime maybe someone can shed some light? Hi Gordon, You have read through the change notes for TDV? The trackbed edge settings are now specific to each template and saved in the .box file. Each edge can be turned on or off independently on each template, and the width changed for each template -- more info at geometry>? trackbed- help menu item. There is a rebuild function to allow fast transfer of the settings to a group of templates or to an entire track plan. Specifically, some customers which were formerly on leased servers elsewhere have now been brought in-house, some existing customers have been extremely successful and needed extra web capacity, and earlier this year Jim acquired another small hosting company and transferred their customers to his own servers. Jim is apologetic about this, part of the problem is that some faulty equipment (now replaced) failed to record traffic peaks accurately and he was unaware of the true situation developing. Some relief may be possible in the short term by more closely monitoring exactly how much bandwidth each customer is using, but to keep everything in-house and expand his business further it will be necessary for Jim to install a much higher capacity internet link.
