Does he intend to sell BH rail? Does Phil currently have remaining stocks of parts? Are future sales likely to be just mail order? Thank you. I am ...

Hi Paul, They should appear when you press the ALT key. If you want them to be always visible you need to change this setting on your computer: 2_130338_380000000.png Untick that box to make the underlines always visible. To get to that dialog, right-click on a blank area of the Windows desktop, then click Properties. Click the Appearance tab and then the Effects button. In practice I often find it faster to use the arrow keys to navigate the menus. Press and release the ALT key ...

... with such a thing, can you tell me where the driver for it gets installed? The driver is installed on each PC that needs access to the printer, although the way it is installed is slightly different- I use the HP wizard for convenience. I think as far as Windows is concerned it's just another driver, and Windows appears to see the printer as if it's physically connected to the PC. Even though the physical printer itself may not be available, the icon isn't greyed out in the same way as other unavailable network printers are. This does confuse some programs, and with Firefox, for instance, I need to ensure that the printer is physically turned on and ready before trying to print. My other two printers (Canon and Alps) are just standard USB and parallel port connected! I've read the What's This? help for these and in typical Windows style I can't say I'm much the wiser. How exactly do you "resubmit a document from the printer queue instead of from the program"? Is this the Document> ...

... "lost" as searching the forum for a previously-given answer is a pain, takes up too much time. Often, you must find yourself giving the same answer over and over again. Thirdly, you should have the "right" to put a particular post into an area for "general comment"- implying that anyone could respond, therefore you are not going to do so if an answer is forthcoming, then great, otherwise keep waiting.... Fourthly, give yourself the right to declare yourself unavailable for a few weeks at a time- if we know you are "away" it encourages us to help others, and dissuades us from posting For me Templot's great strength is it power- unfortunately, this means complexity and that demands a good instruction book!! ... have a better spec at 1.2mm flangeways but some modern RTR wheels I have measured at 2.37 and I suspect that may not be the narrowest. But code 83 turnouts have a US look to them as they meet several of the NMRA specifications given they are for the US outline market. BTB would still have to be changed which meant other BRMA members could not run their kit on my layout even if I did put up with the look of the US turnouts. So OO-SF was logical but track building gauges have been unavailable for some time until very recently. I got mine yesterday. I'm still not sure what to do in general PCB or plastic construction. Plastic means understanding the chairing better and learning additional technique. PCB is easy to make and can be made with very few sleepers. So for fiddle yards etc this will be quick, cheap and deliver reliable running. It allows me to get started building soon and not be concerned about chairing as an issue. I can also do complete sleepering on some and see if cosmetic chairing is ...

All that has been said is that the business is changing hands in May/June, with sales commencing on June the 1st. Plus the unit is closing on the 29th of April (from Memory) so there will be a period when parts are unavailable in between. Except for shows in Farnham, Derby, Bracknell and Aylesbury where I guess only pre-orders prior to 29th of April can be picked up, so stocks may be limited towards the end of each show Also the currant website will close, I guess Peter has no idea what system will be put in place by the new owners. I don't see the new Templot having many contributors so it will probably not be an issue anyway. Hi Rob, Given that the whole thing is entirely voluntary, it's difficult to see how anyone could be required or prevented from doing anything. I know there are systems where once a file has been "checked out" like a library book, by one person, it becomes unavailable, or read-only, to everyone else. But that clearly requires that the files are kept on a common network system somewhere, rather than locally. It occurs to me more often than is comfortable, that Templot is such a textbook example of how NOT to write a computer program, that no self-respecting IT professional is willing to have his or her name anywhere near it. So we are left with just me and the brave to soldier on. I'm happy to change user names on here to an ...

... my work at regular intervals and basically followed the option that stated "If unsure hit yes". So I did. Sorry! Hi Scott, No it wasn't you downloading Templot3. Saving a MECBOX file on your own computer does not download anything. Yes, the purpose of a MECBOX file is to save your data in a format which could be used in Templot3 if needed (Templot3 cannot use normal BOX files). The purpose of Templot3 is a. to provide a means of continuing with your project if Templot2 becomes unavailable for any reason (such as a my being run over by a bus!), and b. to invite others to get involved in future programming developments of Templot in whatever direction they wish to take it. While I continue to develop Templot2, at least for the present. At present by default when saving, Templot2 invites you to create a MECBOX file in addition to a BOX file, as a form of insurance. If your work is not critical, you may choose not to bother with that. You ...
