The actual amount of movement is tiny so hopefully it won't fatigue, which is what seems to happen with PB strip soldered to the rail sides. Or maybe I did something wrong! I've also tried cast brass fishplates and plastic fishplates but these are not really satisfactory. What you could try is the omega loop combined with a loose cast brass fishplate to give more positive location.
