What I found most concerning was that they were in a line where EMUs thundered over them at 70mph. 2151_151401_090000003.jpg I have a picture taken of the same spot in 1967 showing the same sleepering arrangement i.e. concrete sleepers on one track and timber sleepers on the other shortly after the rails were changed to flat bottom.
