... the EM track at 24" radius giving a throw of 6.67mm, this is similar to the 7.0mm figure for down to 593mm Radius. However this only allows for clearances to fixed structures and this needs to be doubled for track centres as there is end and centre throw to be allowed for for both tracks. I have had to post a screen shot as Excel files are not accepted as a valid file type, so you may need to go to the gallery to read the original text. Hope this works. Here are copies of the spreadsheet I use, worked out from first principles, which uses the same formula as Mike. This produces results very much in agreement with the figures published by the late Derek Genzel in the Scalefour Society digest. ... as suggested by Tony. Out of interest, how did you arrive at 53mm centres for 1067mm radius and 49mm centres for 2085mm radius? Is that by experiment or is there some formula or rule of thumb you use to calculate the track centres required? The track spacing dimensions come from a versine formula from which I constructed a spreadsheet and produced the following table which was posted back in 2012 in a similar thread. 2151_201728_420000000.png I will have a look at your latest box file. Tony I've just realised there is a mistake in the scissors crossover- by increasing the track centres the V crossings have now moved to a position where they 'line up' ...

... of that one" Cheers Richie Last edited on 5 Oct 2017 19:26 by Richie Kynaston posted: 5 Oct 2017 17:49 from: Tony W Hi Richie. You have understood the track spacings correctly. 11'2" centres gives the 6' way that Martin states and is the standard minimum, usually maintained between platform tracks although situations vary according to operational needs. Below is a table of model track centre spacings that I posted some years ago before Martin created the dummy vehicle facility. You may find it useful. 2151_201728_420000000.png Regards Tony. posted: 5 Oct 2017 21:29 from: Richie Kynaston Thanks Tony. I take it from there that in EM, i'd use the 4mm table, take the larger of the two radii and use a centre line between them of x- for example where the larger of the two radii is 982, the centre line between the two tracks would be 54?
