The pattern I'm looking for comprises one course of headers, then three courses of stretchers then another of headers and so on and may be a garden wall bond iirc. it may be symptomatic of some form of OCD on my part but given the locations sparseness all the details seem so much more apparent so when i got to drawing up my notes and did a test structure with available plastic sheet it didn't look right.
