... select the turnout I want( white in my picture) Then I set the peg to the right part of the turnout( the top route) Then I set the notch to go to this peg( I assume I am doing this right) Then I got to [tools]- [make return curve] Instead of getting a nice return curve where I want it( the yellow line) It moves the peg and notch to the lower exit on the turnout and draws a curve there! A "return curve" means a curve from the diverging exit of a turnout, returning the diverging road parallel with the main road of that turnout. That's what Templot creates when you click make return curve. What you want here is simply a longer main road. With the turnout in the control template ...
