... writing the code 15+ years ago I decided that it was more important to spend time on other things. 3D printing was out of reach for the majority and the only function of the solid rendering was to look nice in 3D walk-throughs and similar presentations. Having exported such a DXF file I find that it opens just fine into TurboCAD Deluxe 20. I can then save it from there in STL format. The STL file then opens just fine in another CAD program, eDrawings 2016. It looks like this: 2_081353_220000000.png From which I assume that it is a bog-standard STL file, and from what you say, I'm assuming that a 3D printer would be able to use this STL file? Which means that I can go ahead and add chair detail to this DXF export in the same way as the rails and timbers are implemented. The file size will be massively increased, but nowadays file sizes don't seem to matter. Every time I press the shutter on my camera it creates a file double the size of Templot. And ...
