The slicer will chamfer the lower edge of the inside jaw somewhat. The gap for the web is drawn oversize but it works for SMP rail. The gap under the inside jaw is to make it slightly compliant so that the rail is always forced against the outer jaw. All highly empirical of course but it seems to work reasonably well.
