Making it easier has been on my to-do list for years. 1. right-click on the image in the gallery, or wherever you found it. 2. copy the image location URL. 3. it will look something like this: gallery/2 /thumbs/2_230721_050000001.jpg The path part may vary. 4. go to Google. 5. paste it into the Google search box. 6. in the search box, edit out the path part, so that you have just the file name left: 2_230721_050000001.jpg 7. I can only assume this was an error on the original drawing, and that all subsequent drawings have copied the same original. Note also in that drawing the wider S1J joint chairs on the first timber. This photo shows on the right an REA block chair on a right-hand switch. I wouldn't want to swear in a court of law that it is skewed to the timber, but it certainly looks that way: 2_230721_050000001.jpg This location is easily accessible, so I will go and have a closer look. On the left a bolted half-chair is used to allow space for chairing the long check rail behind it (the actual reason for taking the photo). Here is a wider view. L1 bridge chairs on the left (on all 3 rails): 2_230721_050000000.jpg regards, Martin. Here are a few pics showing such a check rail extended back to the switch: 2_240614_180000002.jpg 2_240614_180000001.jpg As you can see the check rail is extended as far as physically possible behind the switch rail: 2_230721_050000001.jpg To make room for the check rail chairs, bolted half-chairs are used for the closure rail: 2_230721_050000000.jpg On the GWR and BR(W) the check rail is actually attached to the back of the switch rail, using a fitting called a "check lump". To adjust check rail lengths in Templot, real> adjust check rails... menu item, and click on the label for the required check rail end (not the check rail itself). regards, Martin. posted: 24 May ...
