... two before I can get around to actually setting up the machine, with Christmas and current projects that need completion first. posted: 26 Dec 2018 02:34 from: Martin Wynne Getting a bit closer. The central rib on the inner jaw is now distinct, and there is now no flashing between the screw heads. I also modified the outer jaw and key to better match the underscale Peco pretend-bullhead section, and made it a closer fit in the chair (7mm scale/ 0 gauge): 2_252112_540000000.jpg 2_252113_110000000.jpg 2_252113_340000000.jpg In theory you make one change at a time. So I made four. 1. retraction increased from 0.25mm to 1mm. 2. Z-hopping over perimeters switched on, and set at 0.2mm lift (for 0.05mm layers). 3. infill overlap on perimeters reduced from 15% to 5%. 4. printing order changed to print infill before the perimeter around it. I don't know which of these was the more important, but I suspect 4. was the most significant in improving the definition. Whatever ...

... you can mix the resin with a flexible resin to give a more durable product, and of course have a wide variety of colours. posted: 10 Jul 2019 23:38 from: Martin Wynne Tom Allen wrote: With experience of a pla/filament printer i must admit i would shy away from it and lean quite heavily towards an sla/dlp resin printer. Hi Tom, Welcome to Templot Club. I'm getting reasonable results from my filament printer in 7mm/ft scale, approaching the quality of injection moulding: 2_252113_340000000.jpg That's using a 0.6mm nozzle for the timbers and 0.2mm nozzle for the chairs. More info in this topic: topic 3307 which I now see is 12 months old. Where does the time go? In 4mm/ft scale the results are more iffy, and I'm not entirely convinced it is worth continuing with integral chairs and timbers by this method: 2_301608_470000001.jpg But integral chairs and timbers is just one option. Printing a timber base with locations for separate chairs, resin printed perhaps, or Exactoscale-type pips for injection ...

... as a reference while constructing pointwok on Templot templates: 2_191943_000000000.png© Exactoscale I'm currently working to add chairing to Templot, at least for the basic turnouts. It's extremely complicated and varies for different prototypes and periods, so it can never be just a few clicks. The chairs also have to re-arrange themselves when timbers are shoved. Here is an idea of how it will look on the trackpad: 2_301200_590000000.png The main reason for doing it is to create files from Templot for home 3D printing, like this: 2_260016_310000003.png 2_220920_110000000.jpg 2_252113_340000000.jpg But there is still a long way to go. At present I'm fully occupied with other more pressing stuff, such as a new file format for the open-source version of Templot. cheers, Martin. posted: 20 Oct 2019 15:41 from: tmarston Hello Martin, Thank you for your reply. On the screen shot above from template you show chair outlines on the track bed. If you can show this why can you not issue the update with a provisor about shoving the track bed. I would ...
