... FPL lever to release the turnout. I suspect that Eardington on the SVR now has this arrangement. The ESR has 4 of these, I will trawl through my photo's to see if I have a picture of the arrangement. One lever has a lock on it which can only be released with the key on the token, once this lever has been reversed, the turnout lever can be reversed. On completion of shunting operations and all levers returned to normal, the token is removed from the lever lock and the turnout is now safely locked for normal passenger operations to resume. This operation regularly takes place at Bere Alston and Coombe Junction, where the turnout can be locked in either direction ...
