Hi Gordon, That's the famous "matchsticks and broken glass" effect. It's a known effect. Your coloured tracks make it look even more dramatic! It is caused by the transition curve being too "gentle" for the maths capability of your processor. In other words the radius changes by too little in too long a transition length. If you look at the transition radii there you will see 2053- 2020mm radii -- a difference of less than 2%. When you get this effect you can be ...

... Essentially you created a transition curve which was too gentle for the maths processor in your computer. "Too gentle" means the radius was changing by too little in too long a transition zone. The problem will disappear as soon as you change one of the radii, or shorten the transition zone. Generally when this happens you can split the difference in radii and replace the transition with a fixed radius curve. Often the screen is more alarming, and you can create some startling effects, like this one from Gordon S: 479_260758_150000000.jpg It's difficult for me to prevent, without restricting the necessary functionality. One day I may have a fresh look at the transition maths -- I wrote the transition code many years ago. Once you know about it you can just ignore it. More about it here: topic_1391&forum_id=4 regards, Martin. posted: 4 Dec 2011 15:53 from: Rob Manchester Hi Martin, Thanks for the reply. ... about a metre. Almost certainly you have a transition curve there which could be replaced with a fixed radius with very little change elsewhere. Or alternatively try changing one or other of the radii a fraction, or shortening the transition zone. p.s. it is not related to 218d, it has been in Templot from the beginning. But much worse on Intel processors than AMD. cheers, Martin. posted: 5 Mar 2018 02:10 from: Martin Wynne p.s. Many thanks, Martin, I will try to make the adjustments necessary to prevent a recurrence of this. Possibly involving that Max Spiral chap being 'spoken to', if necessary.
