One thing was the uncoupling magnets were rather unsightly; you can see an electromagnetic one by the station building on the right of the picture. Another thing was I didn't find them as operationally foolproof as sometimes claimed; if you use them with unweighted freight cars such as off-the-shelf Athearn of the day I found that when trying to couple up there was a tendency for the cars to bounce apart rather than couple.
