John Rhodes' book Branch Lines to Ramsey (Oakwood) is silent on the matter, and I've not yet located anything in the GERS Journal either. The line was under the jurisdiction of the GER from opening in 1889 to incorporation in the GE&GN Joint in 1897, and it was in this brief window that the new loop to the goods shed and siding to the cattle dock were laid, and the sidings to the brickworks (1893). 53_270730_130000000.png The GE was the master in the 'prototype for everything' department, and swerves like this were not unknown elsewhere on the system.
