... there an easy way of making Templot templates that will closely match the Peco OO gauge series? Relaying the track won't be too much hassle, it's the wiring that took the time, involving a whole string of single and double slips in true Frank Dyer fashion, and not using digital control. But then I like relays! posted: 3 May 2010 10:45 from: Martin Wynne Hi Roy, There are a couple of templates available for downloading which exactly match Peco 00/H0 turnouts. Download from: topic 294 peco_00h0.png But it's not too clear what you are asking? If you are replacing the Peco track you don't necessarily need an exact match. For example a crossover made from Peco Large Radius turnouts could probably be replaced with an ordinary A-7 crossover, and look much better as a result: 00sf_a7_v_peco1.png If you want a closer match to the original, a turnout with a GWR 10ft curved switch and a 1:6 curviform crossing gets close: 00sf_10ft_6_v_peco1.png See also the option of using 00-SF standards if you are handbuilding ...

... you if you prefix the mm dimensions with a letter S (for "scale size"). For example, if the measured sleeper width is 3.13mm, enter s3.13 and Templot will convert it to 9.39 full-size inches automatically. But remember to set your desired gauge and scale first. There are some notes about Peco turnouts and templates exactly matching Peco which you can download from: topic 294 But Peco turnouts are not 00-SF, so I'm a bit puzzled why you want to replicate them for hand building? peco_00h0.png regards, Martin. posted: 5 Aug 2010 11:04 from: grog_polymer Thanks Martin I'll give the spacing a go tomorrow. I've been home ill for the last couple of days and I have been working though options and terminology to understand what it means. Why do I care about Peco track? The area I have to build my layout is large- about 6.5m x 5.5m. Track laying will be achievable if I can make use of normal flex track for the meandering parts of the layout and lots of parallel ...

... style templates if you wish, and they can be used in creating a Templot track plan. You would be using only a fraction of the capabilities of Templot, but it is a tool to be used in any way you wish. Most users of commercial track prefer to use programs designed for the purpose, such as AnyRail: http://www.anyrail.com although unlike Templot they don't usually allow for the chopping down of fixed pointwork. There are some sample Peco Streamline 00/H0 templates available for downloading from: topic 294 peco_00h0.png Sorry I don't have any info about the geometry of N gauge set-track pointwork -- you would need to create custom turnouts from it. Someone may have a already done so, and be willing to share the Templot .box files. Anyone? cheers, Martin. posted: 10 Jan 2019 14:17 from: Bill Adlington Matrin, yeah I tried anyrail and realised it needed a whole set of new learning curves and that i don't mind except I have my own ambitions with Templot (assuming I can get ...
