Hi Jamie, The best I can do is scan the drawing from David Smith's excellent GWR book. This is a 1:1 short-angle crossing: short_angle_crossing.jpg© GWSG Bear in mind that this is specifically GWR and BR(W) -- sorry I don't have any information for other companies. The "main line" rails are on through baulk timbers (waybeams) held to gauge with transoms and tie-bolts. The "branch line" baulk timbers are rebated into the main timbers.
