That would certainly be the case in GW territory (but in LNER territory perhaps not): wolves1.png Looking at the plan as a whole, you don't seem to have any connection to the the inner double-track? Also the straight section looks a bit train-setty. Generally you can make the layout look larger by having the trains snake through reverse transition curves like this. It also helps to disguise the severity of the end curves.
