Martin, Thanks for posting the HO track link. Yes, the quality looks very good. I like the way of spraying the chairs with the mask before adding the rails. There are some superb items of RTR German rolling stock available from the likes of Brawa. I would be very tempted to do my US HO modelling in Proto87 if there was a UK supplier for rolling stock and diesel replacement wheelsets. I believe the NWSL do most of what is required but you can't beat having a UK supplier. Anybody have any sources ?? Rob Manchester |

Maybe the P4 society has access to suitable wheels, however the wheel diameters might require some re-machining.NWSL do all the standard US wheel diameters in P87 including half axle types for your diesels...I doubt you can find replacement wheel sets for US models anywhere else. Cheers Max |

Thanks John. Yes, I had seem the Proto:87 link you mention. Will have a more detailed read through it when I get some time. A local ( ie UK ) supplier is always nice if possible but I suspect the demand isn't there to make it worth it. Max - I have done a little checking of wheel sizes against the P4 wheels I use on the UK models, most of which can be gauged suitably for16.5mm. Some can be done reasonably closely. A lot us US diesels use split axle pickup with centre muffs holding the gearwheels. Thanks for your comments too. Rob |
