Hi, I have a new insulated tiebar design available suitable for just about any gauge/scale combination now which is capable of being fitted in a prototypical manner - i.e. by drilling the point-blades and stock rails or more conventionally - details on my website |

I don't understand why you think you couldn't any more than with any other system, if you have a particular problem in mind, I'm sure I can come up with something. PaulTownsend wrote: How can I use these on 4mm scale mixed gauge track for 4'8" and 7' ? |

Your website lists them by scale but doesn't give actual dimensions so I am unsure if the 4mm ones will reach 7' gauge. Maybe I should use S Scale or 7mm versions to get the length? But these may be made to heavier cross-section and look wrong in 4mm scale. I am happy to order some for trial but guidance as to which to buy would help. |

Hi, The S Scale ones are of the same cross-section as the 4mm ones - 7mm ones are thicker of course. If you want them specifically for 7' gauge please ask, though the standard 4mm ones may well work too. Hi, I have of course emailed Paul with more info. However for those interested in mixed gauge, the original tiebar can be adapted (it's sort of a half-way house between the double-slip version and the standard version). For the new pattern, I can't really see that one can be easily done but having done some of the original pattern for Paul, I would think that the new pattern 4mm scale ones would be suitable especially if you specify P4 gauge. I'll alter the Paypal buttons to suit. |

Wow, how's that for a responsive supplier? I look forward to receipt of goodies, if his products are as good as his communications they will be A1. |

I would hope that they should be arriving any time soon if not already. Anyway, I have found that when fitting in a conventional method, it is easier to bend a little loop in the wire to solder to the pointblade, don't worry if you don't get it quite right first time as not being brass it is unlikely to break and can be easily replaced anyway. If the gauging is not quite to your liking simply unsolder one wire from the centre, adjust and re-solder. Likewise if the wire should become unsoldered, just solder it to the rail first and then the centre. |
