Hi Martin,

I discovered this one this morning. I resaved my plan after selecting flatbottom rails and rebuilding it with the "Modify Group to Match" option. Afterwards I noticed some turnout timbers were missing and in some places extra rails had been added over the top of, but slightly different to, existing ones. The picture below should explain. A bug perchance?

Regards

Alan

Hi Alan,

Please can you group those templates using the selection fence, and post the .box file? (save group).

Thanks,

Martin.

Hi Martin

Here you are. I've noticed the problem on quite a lot of the formations in my plan. The slips leading to the two scissors crossings at the top of the plan are affected as well as the ones I posted this morning.

Regards

Alan

Hi Alan,

Thanks for posting the file.

Please could you post the same area of your track plan from a previous version before you converted it to FB? Thanks.

Since converting it to FB, have you reloaded it into 091c and saved it again?

Have you tried printing it or exporting a file? Did the FB foot edges show correctly?

regards,

Martin.

Hi Martin

As requested I've attached the same section before I did the flatbottom conversion. It's fine. I have loaded it into 0.91c but the rail duplication showed up there too. I haven't been able to print the converted plan, it simply shows the bullhead rails without the FB feet although the feet do show on the workpad before the print preview comes up. See picture of the print preview below for how it printed.

Hi Alan,

Thanks for posting the .box files.

The problem is that some templates were previously set to the no rails option in this sub-menu:

2_090523_110000000.png2_090523_110000000.png

So the extra rails were not showing.

After setting the head and foot (flat-bottom rails) option and doing modify group to match, the previous no rails setting has been changed accordingly, and the rails have become visible. :)

The modify group to match option changes all the rail settings in this sub-menu.

There are two possible solutions:

1. de-select the "no rails" templates from the group before modifying the group, or

2. omit all the unwanted rails at do > omit rails menu item instead of using the above menu option.

This is the problem with the modify on rebuild function -- it tends to be a bit of a blunt instrument. The only solution if you want more control over each setting is to modify each template individually.

regards,

Martin.
