Hi Donald It means you have selected to have reply sent to you via email, at the bottom of this box, when there is a new post to that topic thread. Unless I am completely wrong. Regards Tom |

donald peters wrote: What exactly is this saying?Hi Donald, As a member of Templot Club forums, you can elect to "watch" any topic on the forums. "Watching" a topic means that an email notification such as the one above is sent to you when there are new messages in the topic since the last time you visited the forums and read that topic. Only one notification is sent between each of your visits to the topic, no matter how many new messages are posted. The clickable link in the notification takes you straight to the first new message so that you can read it and/or reply. You can begin watching topics in two ways. There is a Watch Topic button at the bottom of every topic page on the forums. Alternatively when posting a message on the forum there is a tickbox below the editor area: "Notify me by email when replies are posted to this topic". Normally this box is ticked by default, and also if you post a message by email, as I think you did in the CD topic. You can stop watching topics in two ways. If you are watching a topic there will be an Unwatch Topic button at the bottom of the topic page. Alternatively you can go to My Account > Watched Topics to see a list of all the topics you are currently watching, and you can remove topics from the list by ticking the box(es). Having said all that, it's all a bit pointless and unnecessary if you are receiving all the forum messages as emails, either direct from the forums or via the Yahoo group. You don't need to be notified about a new message if you will receive it anyway. On the other hand if you normally access the forums only via the web sites, either on the Templot Club itself or on the Yahoo web site, having an email notification about new messages in specific topics can be useful. Also, if you receive email messages direct from the forums you can choose to receive them from not all of the forums. Then you might want to watch just a specific topic in one of the other forums. Finally, if you receive messages as daily digests, either direct from the forums or via the Yahoo group, you might want to have an instant notification of messages in a specific topic. As you can see, the new Templot Club is very flexible in how you choose to access and read the messages. The settings are there for you to set up and use whichever way you prefer. regards, Martin. |

Thanks for the helpful information. My puzzle was with the wording "might be other replies.....you will not receive notification...." and its meaning. Regards, Donald |
